Gregor's Room

Gregor's Room
Paper, Ink
13" x 6" x 10"

Reflection

The three sculptures visually communicate peace and kindness. While exploring the materials to build the sculptures, I wanted to focus on Gregors sister because she showed him care and love in the beginning of the story. I decided to include the use of light colors such as yellow and pink. I felt the work was lacking detail so I built up the frame of the bed in a complex way. I want to keep exploring how ink can transform paper into a fabric like texture. I want to learn more about origami. This piece allowed me to explore the possibilities of paper as a complex material. The making of this work exposed new ideas such as paper pulp and choosing to have an optimistic outlook on something even if it appears as exclusively pessimistic.
